Carriage Play Day in the Verde Valley
This event will be held at the Verde Valley Fairgrounds in Cottonwood. The address is 800 E. Cherry St. The entrance is at the intersection of Cherry and 12th Street. There are plenty of rv camping spaces and outdoor stalls. Dry camping is $15 a night, 50amp and 110 is $25 a night. The stalls are outdoor, don’t have to use shavings and are $10.00 a night. You can’t stall your horse next to your camper. Dogs are allowed on leash. No reservations are needed it is a first come first serve basis but they assure me there are no horse events that weekend and there should be plenty of spaces. Just contact the camp host when you come in.
There are plenty of good restaurants and fast food places around as well has hotels. Plan on bringing your own lunch, chairs and water for the event.
There will a different type of cones course followed by numerous obstacles/games. It is not timed, go at your own pace. After everyone goes through you can run it as many times and anyway you like. This is about fun, practice, training and challenging both the driver and horses mind. Open to any size equine/vehicle/harness style. Safety is the only factor.
Registration is between 9-9:30 a.m. Briefing at 9:30 a.m. walk the course, first on the course 10 a.m.
If there is any interest I can lead a scenic drive near Sedona on Sunday.
I will need to give a head count to the fairground administrator a week before the event so if you haven’t already emailed me with your attendance commitment please do asap. Email Jay and Wendy Parkison. If you need that email, leave a reply below and we will get back to you with that email address.
